VP Press Conference

On October 26th, 2022 On September 28th, six students of South Whidbey School District including members of United Student Leaders attended and spoke at the Environmental Protection Agency’s event on the Clean School Bus Program.

In the Spring of 2022, USL took part in encouraging the SWSD district to apply for an electric school bus grant through the EPA, which it was recently awarded.

USL member and student representative on the SWSD Board, Audrey Gmerek, introduced Vice President Kamala Harris at the event and shared remarks about the effect of the climate crisis on students.

USL members also had the opportunity to meet with Senator Murray, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Micheal Regan, and Governor Inslee.
